Resident-led activities

The aim of informal residents’ activities is to promote good neighbourly relations, foster a sense of community and make residents feel at home in their apartment building. Examples of informal resident activities include community efforts, barbecues, board game evenings or courtyard party. On this page, we’ve compiled examples of activities and events organised by residents.

Informal resident activities are about spending time together, and all the residents of the building are welcome to join.

Usually, the residents’ committee is responsible for organising activities in the building, but other residents can also arrange events. The main thing is that the activities are suitable for everyone.

Each property receives an annual appropriation of EUR 1,100–1,700, depending on the number of apartments. The appropriation can be used to organise joint activities for all residents and to cover costs for things like summer flowers, non-alcoholic refreshments and snacks, or entertainment for everyone to enjoy together. The residents’ committee of the property decides on the use of the appropriation.

Community efforts

Community efforts are a way to influence how tidy and pleasant the courtyard of your building is. In addition, they are a good opportunity to get to know your neighbours.

You can participate as much as you have the time and resources. Getting involved in community efforts is easy. Once the community effort has started, you can just ask your neighbours working in the courtyard how you can help them.
