Moving-out inspection
After the tenant has terminated the tenancy agreement, an Espoon Asunnot inspector visits the home to check its condition. Generally, the moving-out inspection will be carried out within two weeks of notice of termination.
The inspector visits the home while the tenant is still living there. The home is usually still furnished during the moving-out inspection. Therefore, the inspection does not exempt the tenant from liability if the damage is discovered only when the home is empty.
In addition to the moving-out inspector, the maintenance company inspects the home just before or after the end of the tenancy. The maintenance company checks that the home is clean and in good condition. It also ensures that the person moving out has taken care of, among other things, plugging the washing machine connection and defrosting the freezer, which, if not taken care of, may cause water damage.
