Terminating a tenancy agreement
The tenancy agreement must always be terminated in writing, and the most convenient method is to do so electronically. For this, you will need your online banking credentials or Mobile ID.
Terminate on time – and you might get a free moving-out cleaning
We recommend that you terminate the agreement as soon as the date for moving to another apartment has been confirmed.
When a tenant terminates a non-fixed-term lease agreement the notice period is always one (1) calendar month. This means that the lease will end at the earliest on the last day of the following month.
Example: You fill out and submit the electronic termination notice for your agreement on May 15th. The notice period is calculated from the last day of May, and your lease is valid until June 30th.
When you make the termination at least two (2) calendar months in advance, you may be eligible for a free moving-out cleaning. More detailed information about the conditions you can find here.
Terminating a tenancy agreement electronically
When the lease is terminated entirely
Electronic termination requires strong authentication. For this, you will need your online banking credentials or Mobile ID.
If several persons have signed the lease agreement and you want to terminate the lease entirely, each person must personally terminate the agreement.
When one of the main tenants remains living in the apartment
Only terminate your part of the lease agreement, and it will continue in the name of the other main tenant. Electronic termination requires strong authentication. For this, you will need your online banking credentials or Mobile ID
When you move from your current apartment to another Espoo Asunnot apartment
Keep in mind that you must terminate your current lease agreement before signing a new one.
When terminating the lease electronically, indicate your desired lease termination date in the section "change to another Espoo Asunnot apartment." Note that the termination date cannot be on a weekend or a mid-week holiday.

Terminating a tenancy agreement by means other than electronically
If you do not have online banking credentials or a mobile ID, you can use the below form to terminate your lease agreement. Please note that the form must be signed by all those who have signed the lease agreement.
You can also terminate the lease agreement with a free-form notification, which must be signed by all parties to the lease.
