A scam message circulating in the name of the City of Espoo's rental homes
Some of our residents have received a scam message addressed to the residents of the City of Espoo’s rental homes. Do not react if you have received a text message with a new account number and due date for your rent invoice. We never send account information by text message.
The scam message claims that the account number for rent payments for the City of Espoo’s rental homes will change at the beginning of February 2023. The City of Espoo is marked as the sender of the message. The message is not sent by Espoon Asunnot, and the account number does not belong to Espoon Asunnot.
The due date and account information of Espoon Asunnot have not changed. Do not react if you have received new instructions for rent payment by text message. We never send account information by text message.
If you have paid the rent to the account mentioned in the scam message, the rent must still be paid normally with the correct payment details to Espoon Asunnot's bank account. Please contact your bank as soon as possible and report the matter to the police.
We have informed our residents about the scam message by text message as well as through our website and Facebook account.
